TapWerks Ale House is super excited to have a special firkin pint night tonight (Thursday, 05/16/2013) from COOP Ale Works.  Right in time for the warm weather, they will be bringing a Strawberry Banana Cream Ale firkin to be tapped at 6pm tonight! COOP Ale Works, a local Oklahoma City brewery, celebrated their fourth anniversary in January of this year. In the last four years they have continuously produced innovative and incredibly tasty beer. TapWerks regularly pours all of COOP’s year-round brands and also pours a seasonal COOP beer as well. We love COOP here at TapWerks and we are super excited to continue to partner with them to share great beer with OKC.

COOP will also be representing on Saturday for the Oklahoma Craft Beer Festival with 11 beers to sample!

The Boxer Rescue of Oklahoma is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that has been rescuing Boxers for nearly 30 years. TBRO started out on a small scale, rescuing dogs in the Tulsa area. Over the years, TBRO has become a statewide organization, rescuing nearly 300 Boxers a year from all over the state of Oklahoma. Our dogs available for adoption are located in foster homes in Oklahoma City, Tulsa and various cities in the state.

We are funded solely by private donations, adoption fees, and fundraising events. It is a constant struggle to raise the funds needed, but it is a labor of love. Our dedicated and committed volunteers and their passion for Boxers are what make this organization work.

The Boxer Rescue of Oklahoma is excited to be part of The Oklahoma Craft Beer Festival this year. This is a key event in helping raise funds for the many homeless Boxers we rescue. Our vet bills can reach over $80,000 per year so we are counting on you to make this a huge success!

We hope you can join us in this fun-filled event, we will have some of our wonderful Boxers there available for adoption, TBRO merchandise for sale and we will be providing information to anyone interested in volunteering for our organization!

Tonight (05.14.13) is night two of our celebrations of #craftbeerweek, and we are very happy to have Choc Beer Company providing a special Rosemary Bière de Garde Firkin. Tonight’s festivities start at 6pm at TapWerks Ale House. Come buy a pint and keep the glass!

Choc Beer Co is located in the quaint town of Krebs, Oklahoma, and wears the title of ‘Oklahoma’s oldest handcrafted beer’ extremely well. Choc started as a result of the tireless efforts of an Italian immigrant, Pete Prichard, to provide for his family and continues with his grandson, Joe Prichard, tirelessly working to keep his legacy going. Choc is rooted in hard work and great results.  We are big fans of this Oklahoma beer.

Choc will also be pouring some great beers at the Oklahoma Craft Beer Festival this Saturday, May 18th.

To celebrate American Craft Beer Week (#craftbeerweek),  TapWerks Ale House is hosting a different pint night every night this week! And to kick it off we are super stoked to have Anthem Brewing Company tonight (Monday, May 13th, 2013) at 6pm.

Anthem Brewing was started  in 2012 by brewer Matt Anthony.  TapWerks currently offers the  Golden One, a belgian-style blonde ale, on tap all the time. Tonight, Anthem will be offering a special firkin (a saison with tart cherries and smoked malt)  and with the purchase of the beer, a pint to take home! Also, via social media, Matt Anthony announced today that they will also reveal some exciting news tonight!

Take a second and check out this local OKC brewery and come by and have a pint tonight to properly celebrate the first day of American Craft Beer Week.

Also look for Anthem this Saturday, May 18th, at the Oklahoma Craft Beer Festival. Tickets are on sale for Saturday online, $35 per session to sample hundreds of beers. On Saturday, Anthem will be pouring White Flame, Golden One, Bourbon Barrel Golden One, Atrun Belgian Stout, and a surprise beer!

The OCBF has quickly turned into one of the best showcases for Oklahoma beer! This year promises to be the best yet. There is more and more great beer in Oklahoma. The existing instate breweries continue to produce top notch beers while also releasing cutting edge beer. In addition to that there are new instate breweries creating great beers. The OCBF is a great way to sample and support all these breweries.

As brewers it’s something we look forward to each year. Almost ever brewer at the event will pour something from deep in their cellar or maybe even an entirely new beer. There are sure to be great beers that you don’t want to miss.

This year for the first time, we are offering a Designated Driver ticket. The ticket gets you access to the festival where you can enjoy the live music, food trucks, and great atmosphere. While you will not be allowed to sample any of the beers, we will have a booth set up with sodas and water free of charge to Designated Drivers. You will also get a ticket for a free meal from one of our food vendors.

The 3rd Annual Oklahoma Craft Beer Festival is just around the corner.

Plans are underway and the first list of beers is already on my desk! This year will have the largest amount of beers and breweries available for sample yet. We will break the 200 count for total beers representing over 45 breweries! Thanks to some new Oklahoma breweries like Black Mesa, Roughtail, and Prairie Artisan Ales, we will also have our largest count of Oklahoma made beers. Some of the craft breweries that are new to our state are promising some big things as well, including Green Flash, Goose Island, and Jolly Pumpkin.

The Festival is set for Saturday, May 18th with two sessions. 1-4pm and 5-8pm. We are also offering a Designated Driver ticket this year for those that want to enjoy the festivities without the beer.
